Palliative Care
Palliative care provides a holistic approach for individuals with significant health needs and advanced chronic illnesses. We offer compassionate support for individuals nearing the end of their life wishing to remain in a caring, safe and familiar environment.
Our experienced team of Nurses and Care Staff follow nationally recognised guidelines for delivering the highest standard of care and support, we aim to ease suffering and enhance a person’s remaining life, aiding their journey as much as possible, providing them with the up-most dignity and respect. Our caring team also offer support for families and friends during this very difficult time. Our nurses and care staff have extensive training in the management of pain and provision of psychological, social and spiritual support is paramount.
Respite Care
Respite care is an opportunity for carers to take a break and simply spend some time focusing on their own needs, whilst at ease knowing your loved ones are receiving the very best of care throughout their stay with us.
We tailor our respite stays to each person’s individual needs and our nursing and care teams have specialist expertise in supporting older people who have Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, physical disabilities or restricted mobility. Respite care can last for just a few days or as long as is needed. We understand that it’s the personal details that make a difference. We take the time to get to know our respite clients before they arrive, so we can be sure that their stay gets off to a great start. Each respite client has a personal care plan that takes into account their support needs, interests, likes and dislikes, and daily routines.
Dementia Care
A person with dementia has memory, concentration and logic challenges and can often find it difficult to communicate what they need and how they feel. We understand the difficult challenges faced by individuals living with Dementia. At Ringdufferin, the most compassionate care is provided by highly trained professionals who provide a tailored approach to meet each individuals care needs.
Our team of professionals continually undertake training which ensures that people living with dementia are treated with the up most respect, dignity and care, the type we would expect for ourselves and our loved ones. At Ringdufferin Nursing Home we also encourage the involvement with families to ensure relevant personal items are used to stimulate reminiscence and promote conversation.
Nursing Care
We provide Nursing Care for individuals with specialist requirements. Our nursing home teams are fully qualified and have the specialist expertise required to care for residents varying medical needs and requirements. Our focus at Ringdufferin.
